Suggest you stick to talking about things you know something about. A new 300hp OMC certainly did put out at least 300hp at the prop. 230hp is just a joke. Don't forget it was a OMC V8 which still holds the world outboard speed record.

I was gonna cry bs on world record .I looked it up and you are right .Amazing .I didn't like what they did to my sport, although it did run faster than with the mercs....I'm still not a fan of the old fridges ...MO

I spent some time on/driving a 29 Scarab with twin 300/350's and Bravo drives. She felt well balanced and ran out right at 70.

You're joking abot the Outboard marine corp (OMC) right Rat?

my Dad bought a new 302 CC in 1997. It had a pair of Merc 250's EFI. The boat was horribly slow (55mph) for the first 2 month's he had it. The boat was sent to a Mecury outboards specialist about 40 miles away from the house. The boat came back a rocket. 72mph on gps. The boat looked great and was fast for what it was.....the quality of it compared to the Top Gun he had previous was poor however it did haul ass!
