Sonny builds some great stuff and is a super nice guy!
Way back in 1998 he built a n/a 437 c.i. fuel injected (Motec unit) motor for my B/A NHRA car. It made just over 1100 horsepower with a great torque curve. We went a full tenth of a second faster than the national record with it the first time out testing.
Only two problems with putting that motor in a boat:
1. We shifted at 9700 RPM
2. we rebuilt the motor every 10 miles.
Love to see some of the big power turbo guys get into boat motors, but it is a whole different game for sure.

I help out on a car that has a 865. Carl Foltz wedge head. 11.7:1 compression motor makes 1850hp before we start spraying. Sonny builds a good head and it would have been about 10g's cheaper to run his stuff but the car wouldn't be competitive. We spin the 865 9500rpm. Motor has been together for 3 years with same pistons and crank. Ran a best of 5.96 in 1/4 on 3 kits of nitrous. One more kit to go but car isn't ready for it. I think that says alot about today's part and technology.
