Default Merc 850's service

Can someone tell me about the Mercury 850's? You don't see a lot of them out there. Do they require the same service intervals as the 1075's? How about the good the bad or the ugly on them. Thanks for any insight.

Whats what all about?

A guy asked about reliability and refresh on a Merc 850 and I suggested he talk to Precision Marine. Precision has more experience with merc racing motors then just about anyone outside of Merc.

He said that because the original poster doesn't have a boat with 850's, so he must be looking at something but hasn't told anyone. We're all friends and like to do a little ball busting with each other.
