Economics 101.........Many people will by a 30K boat, few will buy a 300K boat. Baja and Scarab are well known names, if for no other reason than the number of them out there.

Just pretend it's not called Scarab and it's a pretty good looking boat if you're in to that kind of boat.

Bingo!

I remember the Scarab jets from before but that Donzi jet is a new one for me. At least the new Scarab jet is more practical than the old one. Will probably sell more of them too.

It's likely a smart marketing move, and being of the "iphone (I don't have one) generation" I resent the remark that none of us know what a Scarab is or the heritage... With that being said, jet boats make tons of sense of for people, it's just a shame that the name is on the side of a small jet/runabout. Also the whole 30k vs. 300k is obviously very true. They are taking a name for the sake of sounding cool and marketing to a more broad audience. It sucks, but makes sense

......but will someone splash it, extend it a few feet, and call it an Apache? Or maybe a light layup Larry Smith version that runs 50+ mph.
