Default 1986 Formula 206LS how much $$$

I am looking at a 1986 Formula 20 footer. Fresh water only, 450 hrs, 260 Mrecruiser, new alpha drive on a double axle galvi trailer. and ugly faded maroon sides.

It`s all orig and has not been used or run since summer 1999. Has been shrink wrapped whole time.Needs a fair amount of cleaning/detailing, batteries etc. I can buy it as is.

What do you think it is worth???? and how much should I offer?

Kurt check out the Formula area. One of the strings had a REAL NICE 87 or so for like 7 grand just needed a drive but would have been worth like 17 when done.

There is a couple in the boat trader...one with a 350 for around 12-15 G's and another one with a 454 for $6800.00

Maybe somewhere inbetween that

Send me your e-mail address. I have a copy of the original F-206 brochure from 1988.
I'd be glad to forward a copy to you.
I payed 13K for mine two years ago.

Hope you get it.
Maybe then I won't be the ony one on the board with one.

Default Formula f206 brochure

Hello Iggy from deepvc! I read your thread about owning a 1987 Formula f206 brochure. I am buying a 1987 F206 this week and would gladly pay you for a copy of your brochure. I am a big Formula fan but don;t know alot about the F206 as I have not seen one until the one I am buying came up for sale. My email address is [email protected] if you get a chance to respond. Thanks much for your time.

To answer your question.....
Feel the guy out. If the boat's been sitting that long, odds are he wants to get rid of it. If low retail is about $7000, lowball him. Offer him about $4500. All he can do is say no. You can always go up, you can't go down. I bought my 21 footer for $2500. The guy was looking for $7000. The boat was pretty clean, but hadn't been run in years. Just for the hell of it, I offered him $2500, never expecting him to take it, but he did! At the time, book was 10 grand! You just never know. If the seller is a friend you might want to start out a little higher.

I was gonna say about 5 grand. You can buy those
older 21 scarabs all day for that.

The 206 is what first got me interested in this madness. I saw one running through a stiff chop without getting beat to death. He went to the same ramp I did, after getting my teeth beat out in my fish boat. I walked over to see what it was, the rest is history.

I love the look of them, and after owning three Formulas, I want one even worse. The bad thing is, I already have two 20 foot sportboats.

I still check them from time to time and they seem to run from 10K up to 15K.

Are you keeping the Pachanga too?

Formula IS a nice boat, but for an 86 20 footer needing work 5 grand is a fair price for both buyer AND seller. Like epeek said, that's about going rate, and I live on Long Island where everything's expensive!!! Like I said, offer him $4500.
