Ahhh...The ole' raging gps speed debate...heheheh

Two schools of thought...I'd say.

Both right, but both valid for different reasons at different times.

i thought it was a good thread. it became frustrating at times, but both sides took a lot of time to explain their point of view. i thought it was an excellent example of the OSO forum in action. sharing information.

it is disappointing to see it deleted.

Did it get out of control after I left ..... it was all fun and good natured arguing until then. No one was called any names (except for Joey calling me ASS_NINE), but, as Chick Hearn would say "No harm .. No foul"

The prop is pulling it's self thru the water, but, is it pushing the boat thru the water?

That sorta like saying " It doesn't suck, it blows.
Or Don't Blow! Suck!"

What? Did sombody say Foul??? What?? Did I do something wrong?? And I firmly believe the EGG came first. Damn the chickens!!!!! And we all KNOW GPS measures speed of an object over the earths surface. Current and wind will have NO effect on it's accuracy.

Like I said, over the surface of the earth. Matters not if it's a lava flow, river current, or turbulant air, the GPS simply measures the speed at which the object with the GPS in it is traveling over the surface of the earth (or away and towards each of the satelites the GPS reciever is using to measure speed as the case may be). Anyone want to argue?? If so, I'll be back in a while. Going to a movie with the girlfriend!! Back in a while!!
