No I don't. Just pics of the garbage that I was sold as newly rebuilt by David "Pou" at DP Marine in Hilton South Carolina. Stay away from this douche bag unless you like getting screwed over. Yes. His last name is Pou. There are hundreds of build threads if you want to look at pics Noli on S&F.

BB, I agree wholeheartedly with you that there are some top shelf engine guys out there. The thread starter would like to know what people think about the new Mercury Racing engines. To my limited knowledge non of the Top guys are producing them, they are a new tech, clean sheet of paper if you will. I also would like to hear from people in the know how they are performing. Good/bad whatever.

If you run the 1350's hard they are breaking, (from what I've seen) the same applies to custom power that is being pushed to it's limits. I would rather have a the custom power (that is not on the edge) by a builder that can fix my engine without having to send it back to Merc. I do agree that the 1350's or 1100's are easier to sell than custom power, so I agree that if you are worried about resale it will affect you to not have Merc power. If I wanted 1300hp I would start with a 1075 and have Precision do there upgrades to get it done this would give the appearance of Merc power to the guy that only knows "Merc" but the ability to communicate and get things done on my engines when needed. If you plan to get over 200hrs on your 1300hp without doing anything other than maintenance than your not using you the power that engine has.
Can't think of one boat that I know of with 1350's that has not already used there warranty, as for custom power the same applies but there is just no warranty to back it up. I'd rather pay the bill at a custom performance shop than Merc.
Keep in mine the time it takes you to make a run at 70mph cruise speed gets cut close to, if not less than half the time of what you would spend running a boat with 1300hp. So the rebuild time of 200hrs equates to running a good bit events.

I have nothing against Merc, My 1075s and 1200s were great motors with little to no problems. If I had an unlimited budget I would probably go with the 1350's. However most of us do have a budget, and that is where it gets tricky. I have heard of one MTI owner who had approx 200hrs before rebuild with no problems, his rebuild was north of $100K for the pair though. I know of two others who have had rebuilds with alot less hrs, one was $8?, and the other was well north of $100K, So I don't believe low Merc Reps estimate. These were two guys I know personally and had to write the checks. One thought is was a bargin, the other listed his boat for sale because of it. I
My opinion is they are great motors with incredible power and manners, but you better be able to pay for their upkeep or they will take the fun out this in a hurry. Because the 1350's are having some issues, I believe there were at least 5 motors at Tic Fall this yr that got to go back the Merc for check ups

Just read this thread from the beginning.
Conclusion: Buy non Mercury power unless you are a bagillionaire.
I feel pretty good about my Sterlings now. $25k for the pair to rebuild making 1050hp on 93 octane seems like a lot of bang for the buck.
It's great to have your engine builder be a real guy who will talk to you. Tony at Native sent me 3 videos of the motors on dynos today and has been communicating with me every step of the way. He told me what it would cost up front and I'm not going to be in shock when I get the final bill.
Non bagillionaires, you can get in this game if you are smart and do your research.

I have heard nothing but GREAT stuff about the power and manners. As we all know Merc power usually runs better than the customs shop motor with the same adveritised power because Merc uses a different correction factor to determine HP. But there are some custom builders that use the same factor and are producing the same power as Merc with a conventional BBC.
