Today is my 25th sobriety anniversary! I can believe it's been that long!!
25 years ago yesterday, I was homeless in New York.
I spent a long time sleeping in hallways and trains with the clothes on my back. It was December, freezing cold and I had an old Members only jacket.
Drugs took everything from me including my relationships with most of my family.
We always joke about my luck, but I am one of the luckiest , most grateful people you will ever know.

Congrats Gino, Awesome story and we all know it wasn't any easy journey switching gears either.
On top of all that you were smart enough to get out of the cold too.
Geesh....Minus 2 yesterday,...22 today on the way in.

My hats off to you. That is a kick ass accomplishment. I have family and friends that have gone through the same battle. Some successful, others not so much but to go 25 years with that monkey on your back and still prevail is unreal. There can't be too many people that can say they have turned their life around THAT much. From the streets of NYC to the clear blue waters of Ft Lauderdale. Not to mention sporting a 44 MTI.
Curious, what color chip is the 25 year mark?

I'm embarrassed to say I have not been to an AA meeting or NA meeting in over 10 years. I thought I would be a hypocrite if I went to a meeting to get a chip. I probably should though!
