Catalina Ski Race.........and the winners are?
 

Huh..........I'm not sure. The race was delayed sooooo long due to visibility issues that we got tired of waiting and headed to Catalina without the racers and had lunch. I can tell you this.....by the time the race started, the water was NASTY. I bet the only records that were made were the number of 1 hour+ finishers. Did anyone do it in less than 1 hour?

Oh yeah.......I do know that Todd finished first. That I do remember. :D :D :D :D

Leaving at close to 3:00pm to ski the Catalina Chanel ... the organizers must have bumped their noggin .... the race could have been run Sunday .... that's why they changed the race to Saturday, so in case of weather issues it could be postponed until the next day.


Skiing to Catalina at 3:00 in the after noon ..:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

We used my boat to pull my brother in the men's novice class and it was damn rough out there.....You know it's rough when the Catalina Express passes you and the wake from that boat doesn't stand out from the rest of the waves.:eek: I don't remember our exact time, but it was over 2 hours and still good enough for 2nd place in the class....We got beat by a 38 formula.


I don't know if you noticed, but you actually passed us about 6-8 miles outside of Long Beach on our way back from Avalon...

I have to agree with you, they should have moved the race to Sunday...you talk about a group of racers eager to compete, there were guys in 18ft river boats makin their way out of the break water:eek: and I thought to myself that takes big balls:eek:

I heard everyone made it back ok, but it was the roughest Catalina Ski competition that the participants ever experienced in that race.
