Black thunder hands down no questions. They are amazing boats! Rode and drove in 4 and loved them all. Would own one if we did not choose to have a 14' wide cruiser and a 100 mph go fast instead.

Enjoy!

Give PBC a call they have both a 43BT and the 38 ZX both have 500's. The season is coming fast, take both for a ride then make your decision.
Who is PBC?

5 ft difference, big enough to matter on the lake, big enough to matter on the trailer, either way I think you will be happy, I'm thinking the Donzi is less money, and they sure are pretty!! something nostalgic about owning a damn Donzi!

My buddy has a a 38zx beautiful boat. Draws a crowd everywhere it goes. Great cabin never been in it in very rough water. It has 500efi's I cant believe how fast and easily a boat that big hops up on plane IMO if you cant get it done in that boat you should stay on shore.

There used to be a black thunder out of cedar point awhile back that did over a hundy. He told me it would do 80 in 6 to 8 and was pretty smooth . For what it is worth lol.

Oh yeah, seen them both too.

I like the way Donzi looks no doubt but part of me wants something different. And yes when it comes to the islands both boats will require early arrivals. I putted around in my 311 for 45 mins before having to anchor in front of the monument. Not sure I would trust and anchor with either of those boats. I'm just not sure I'm going to be happy with the cabin of the Donzi but at the same time don't think I'm going to enjoy lugging a 43 footer around either. Maybe if it wasn't so darn tall.
