Question about Pontoon Boats!
Our club has a 28’ pontoon boat that we use for race committee and I find that it’s very difficult to get the thing to maneuver at lower speeds, especially on a windy day. I think it’s largely because the bow doesn’t “bite” to help a turn and I’ve wondered about putting some kind of skeg on the front (or perhaps something that would rotate into the water like a leeboard since the skeg might interfere with the trailer). Do you have a suggestion to improve this?

Now if the club can have something like this -- http://www.manitoupontoonboats.com/b.../photo-gallery I don't think this one will have steering problems.

They handle like a brick. Maneuver it as quickly as you are comfortable running into something.
Harris has a new 25' with twin 300 Verados for right around $110k. It's a steal!
