Default Twin Mercury 565 Engines Propel New DCB M29 to 120 MPH

DCB tested its latest M29 catamaran with twin Mercury 565 engines yesterday and it topped out at 120 mph. The boat will be at next week's Los Angeles Boat Show. The company is also wrapping up an M29 with a turbocharged Mercury 1350 engine that will be on display at next week's Utah Boat Show.

How fast did the the boat run with 300xs', the 1350 hardly seems worth the expense for only 140mph.

Lows-90s. I don't think it's propped for top speed though so probably a little faster.

It's not nothing it is certainly impressive but not for a single 1350, seems like a waste of a very expensive powertrain, that boat will be very difficult to dock probably wants to pull or lean to one side, versus having a pair of 700's same speed or better, better handling all around and a piece of cake to dock. The 120 with the 565's is an accomplishment as well, I remember a few years back when a 30 Daytona broke 100 with 500efi's and it was a big deal, but I guess like typical Merc racing engines the 565's are putting out a little more than advertised.
