Run a heavier weight oil to slow down 'big' tab movement on the small hulls, makes adjustments in settings slower more forgiving.
The long tabs on shorter hulls allow the drive to be trimmed closer to neutral in snotty conditions, by having enough tab to keep the boat flying level. This should result in more efficient speed in rough water conditions than if you were keeping the drive trimmed in to control the attitude of the boat.

Drive level, touch of tab.

I have 380s on a 27 Kryptonite and love them. It has a pad as well. I usually set them level and just extend the length of the boat. Unless its rough, then a touch lower.
Have also run a very fast 24 Progression with the same setup, as well as a 21 Challenger. Wouldnt want anything less.
