Here's a quickie for a reference.. Pay no attention to the crappy flip phone shot that makes the yeller look pail, the dust,or the optical illusion that the throttle bezel doesn't fit flush with the throttles in the front..because it does.. haha.. but this should give a pretty good idear and reference point for a comparison if that was a concern, and anybody had a Pantera sitting around.. The camera angle may fool you a bit and without setting a straight edge across it that measurement your looking at is right around 38".. The number changes to around 35" at the "front" of the back seat (just like at the bolster)..

* If someone is using these numbers as a reference keep in mind my boat has a slightly smaller cockpit than any of the other pleasure 28's due to the slightly larger engine compartment... So that "35 inch back seat number" will most likely be a touch lower of any of the other pleasure setups

I measured the same spot as you did on my 28 Pantera and it was 38" also.

That blue Saber flat out runs, effortlessly...
I've ran up to Muskegon from GH a few times with it. Doesn't it run mid 80's now?

Not sure on the overal fairing height, but something to keep in mind is that the Pantera's have more "rake" running from from the highest point of the fairing back to to the top area of the backseat which would aid in making them feel shallower as you go back.. So I'm betting that a measurement further back may be different the difference ?? With the freeboard from about midpoint of the bolster back on the Pantera being a bit lower..

very good point. when i was tied up next to chris's boat my pantera hatch pad was quite a bit lower than his. i wish i was in the position to buy another 28. those boats sure were a lot of fun.

the saber now runs 85 on gps with 4 people, 2 full coolers and filled to the brim with gas. gotta hit 90 with a light load. i hear with a different tune on the motors and prop change it runs mid 90's
