yes true... Jeff had issues with OSO braintrust at the times if I recall... wow that's LONG ago..

I see the speedwake 2.0 site, just thought it was stagnant, looked so dated, almost archived.. Oh well thought it shut down.

Been so long since I have even been here or there, ahhh the memories..

All the cool people hang out where RattleSnake Jake does. So , when he moves, so do the rest.

Drama aside, thought it was a pretty good site. Topics did not get out of hand as Jeff ran it with a very heavy hand. As time went on, it seemed to be geared to the smaller single engine boats. Actually forgot about that site, have not logged in for a few years. Does it still get traffic? -Surprised it was never sold.

Its up wont let me log on though. used to like it people seemed friendlier and didn't care if you had a old scarab or panchanga. Years back guys on oso wouldn't give the little guy the time of day. Seems to be better now.

The guy who started Speedwake was booted off OSO. I don't remember the reason(s) why though. This is way back in the early 2000s.

He stated his own website/forum: www.offshoreonly.net
Steve Schuble (OSO owner) didn't like that too much, and the hilarity ensued.

Then the site was called www.fastboats.info
Randy Sweers and Steve didn't like that too much, and the hilarity continued.

I think there might have been another name for the site too, before Speedwake was settled on.
It somewhat became a regional site with a lot of it's members from the MD/PA/DE/NJ area.

I too, have not visited in a long time.

Did he ever sell his OL? Seen it listed not long ago. Always thought it was a sharp rig

hah.. must have gotten an alert and it triggered me to visit a thread..

anyhow, all the drama does bring back memories.. I remember the speedwake/oso rivalry and all that. Wow I seem way too old for that now.. Down to one boat.. the Mini Hawk, surely put that back in the water this year.

Also remember getting sucked in for hours on these sites too... I remember when an AVS scarab was wow, and a canopy on a boat was... rare. Mitcher T was painting Sunsations, Jayl13 had an apache love fest for his Baja...and an orange colored color schemed boat meant it was probably an Outerlimits....ahh the days the days the days oh and fuel was outrageously high in the Marina at 1.50...haha

I did notice that the majority there was from the Chesapeake Bay Area, that never bothered me. Very helpful group of guys when I had my Rinker 232, when I bought my Formula 311 OSO seemed to have more help with twin engine setups. There was to much drama from one particular boater and it became annoying when he started sending PMs to talk crap behind people's back. I still visit the site from time to time.

I check in and it is dead.
A former shell of itself.
Still up and running but not much reason for it any longer.
Last few weeks the only new posts are spammers selling rc toys.
Nobody must monitor it at all, somehow it slips through and stays.
Still a few posts from 4 wins liberator and powerplay xlt fans.
