Lake Norman members

I read that some boat launches on Lake Norman are closed because of the drought. Which launches are open and which do you prefer?

Any problems running the main channel? How about the coves?

I boat on Tillery and they are dropping the lake. Was a pain launching last weekend and am thinking about heading to Norman.

I see High Rock & Badin lakes are now closed due to the drought and they are thinking of closing Tillery's boat launches.

Looks like our local boating season might be cut short this year.

WE NEED RAIN !!!

M2,

I HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY RAMP CLOSINGS ON LAKE NORMAN, BUT THE WATER IS WAY DOWN. NO REAL PROBLEMS IN THE MAIN CHANNEL, BUT YOU DO HAVE TO BE CAREFUL IN THE SMALLER COVES. I KEEP MY BOAT AT HOLIDAY MARINE (OFF OF EXIT 28 -CATAWBA AVE.)
I DID HEAR OF RAMP CLOSINGS AT LAKE WYLIE.

GOOD LUCK- SCT

I was there yesterday to check out the ramps for myself. Queens landing, 150 public access and stumpy creek are ok still. But wont be long till they are shut down, unless we get some rain.

I was at Lake Wylie last weekend, had to switch to steeper ramp to launch the cat. As we were loading up, a guy tore his axle off the trailer putting his in on an upper ramp. He had to drag it all the way up the ramp with out a wheel on one side. I can see why they shut them down after that.
