Seven More Days: Thunder on the Water

All packages have shipped via UPS yesterday 8-15. Be on the look out. Included in your package is T-shirts, numbers for your boat, wrist bands, white envelope to obtain cards with and sponsor information. Entries received after the 14th will held for pickup either Friday or Saturday in the tent area.

Important information:

Arm Bands
You MUST wear your arm bands throughout the weekend. It is your ONLY way to gain access to Tequila Jacks, the tents and docks. A "standard" entry includes (2) arm bands and a "six pack" includes (4) arm bands. Additional bands for your crew may be purchased Friday night at Tequila Jacks or Saturday.

Boat Numbers
Numbers have been provided to place on the deck of your boat in the CENTER ONLY! We use these to identify your boats at the docks, from the air and in case of emergency.

Short Course
The program map and the instructions conflict on the sequence of stops. The written instructions are correct.

Photos
We have TWO helicopters this year, one for the long course and one for the short course.

Life Jackets
ALL people in boats during the run MUST WEAR LIFE JACKETS! No exceptions.

Inner Harbor Speed Limit
There is a 35 MPH speed limit in the inner harbor. This area is defined from the Los Alamitos entrance to the transom of the Queen Mary. Also DO NOT travel between oil island White and the pier. People moor overnight in this area and speed boats are very disruptive to the water. Please be considerate of other boaters.

Jet Ski Race
Saturday @ 9:00 am is the start of the Jet Ski race by the Queen Mary. They travel out the LA River, through Queens Gate, to Avalon and back. The leaders take about an hour. Please keep clear of the area.

Late Fees
We have waived the $200 late fee. Any entry post marked after the 7th MUST have the $100 late fee included. All late fees go to charity.

Parking
We are working on securing parking close to the hotel. We will update you as soon as we have an answer.

Saturday Night
We have decided to go with a "Caribbean" theme for the night. The party starts at 6:00 and music has to stop at 10:00. We will have a silent auction taking place to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. There will be lots of cool stuff to bid on. To date you have donated over $10,000 to the cause. Bring cash and remember it's all tax deductible. Food, fun and dancing are on tap.

We are going have some serious fun and hand out some serious money.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
