Default Shipping big outboards

Okay, so I got a killer deal on some V8 Evinrudes, but they are in Oregon and I need them in Maryland. Anyone ever done this and can recommend a good freight company?? Or a member have a freight company?? I'd be happy to patronize one of my OSO brethren (or sisteren )

Thanks

I shipped last year a large Merc 300 from Wisconsin to Georgia, I had the best results using Yellow Motor Freight. They were fair with their costs.and they had a truck with a hydraulic rear lift come to my house and pick up the unit. Just another suggestion, I had a local lumber yard build me a plywood shipping box, I then cross bolted the motor inside. The box ran about 100 dollars. the buyer picked up the cost. Frank

Thumbs up

I shipped an older 50hp merc outboard though Yellow Freight from IL to TX. No problems here either! Just make sure you package it up tight.

Thanks for the response guys! The seller is taking care of the boxing and sounds like he knows what he's doing, so I guess I'll check Yellow and see what they say.

Anyone else???

hey Ted there is a Yellow frieght terminal not far from Pasadena. see what it costs to pick it up there might be cheaper if it doesnt get loaded into another truck for delivery to your house. If that idea works for you let me know i can grab them one day and run em down to you. I have access to a delivery truck with a lift gate anytime.

Thanks for the offer Rob, I'll keep that in mind. We are still working out the details and these mothers are BIG and HEAVY, I don't want to hurt anyone before the boat is rigged After it may just be a few bruised egos

Ted, I have been putting the Cook manufacturing plates on my boats, I dont have any laying around! But I only pay around $225.00 to $250.00 apiece for them. But they only say V/6 300 H.P. I'll call and see if the can handle V/8 OMC BEAST'S that you bought !! Spark.
