Default change prop rotation from outward to rotating inward

What's your experience with the differences in speed and general boat handling if I change the rotation from rotating outward to inward. 32 Sutphen with twin 502's and 26P Bravo one props. Heard they may pick pick up speed.

T2x had an excellent post on the loss of stability/control in some circumstances with props rotating in. Not sure how to look it up but maybe someone here can echo the points in a better manner than I can.

Generally speaking, seems like most boats pick up a little from turning inwards. Inwards rotation helps lift the bow, by pulling down on the transom. Downsides are usually a little less manueverability around the dock, mainly in reverse. Only real way to know though, how your particular boat will react, is by testing. Ive tried it both ways on my non stepped 38 Fountain. They were originally turning in when I bought the boat. I wanted to try turning out, I did, it sucked, boat ran very flat in the nose, loss some top speed, planing was worse. They went back to turning in and stayed that way. But not all boats like turning in.

But my question is that means one outdrive would have to run in reverse if I wanted to change mine around. I have a 270 laser that I thought about trying it. Cuz I have one counter rotation drive. Would that be fine to see how it works.

Somehow that makes NO sense what so ever. If you already have "counter rotation" then both drives have to be in reverse, but only if you have Bravo's. Alpha drives can't just go "reverse". If you have Alpha drives, you have to swap the drives. If you have bravo drives, you can experiment just by putting them in reverse or change the shifting linkage. (as I am doing now)

He has Alpha drives.

You gotta swap drives from side to side. Prop stays with the drive

Spinning inward gives more bow lift. I doubt a 32 straight bottom V with twin BBC's would benefit from more bow lift.

So, lemme get this right. He has twin 502s with Alphas? I wouldn't think prop rotation is his biggest problem, but I could be wrong. I have twin 496HOs with Bravos and have tried both spinning in and out. Didn't see a major gain in speed either way but like the slow speed handling spinning out. Plus is the cool rooster tail too! At least I can LOOK like one of the big boys....LOL!
