I guess...
At least it was not worse, and out and out theft as you hear about so often.
I was afraid that your boat was "taken" and then you were told no new boat for you.
Happier shopping !

Your opinion noted but I disagree b/c I think anyone buying a boat that has been offered a trade allowance for their current boat regardless of whether it's in writing or not now knows that the allowance quoted is not necessarily worth the paper it's written on and that no matter what they said or put in writing if they change their mind it's simply too bad. I made many other decisions based on the communication that took place between me & the US Rep. While I couldn't make him send me a signed buyers agreement until he was ready to I also had no reason to speculate that he's been lying to me & hedging all along. I waited patiently & followed his lead as he was dictating the order of operations that needed to take place.
I work for a man whose privately held company owns approx 100 car dealerships, employing nearly 10,000 people, selling nearly 200,000 cars a year. I assure you he didn't get to where he is today buy doing business like the aforementioned. In fact if someone were to get his attention over similar dealings I'm confident they would be buying a car at true cost w/ full disclosure (actual invoice presented) and someone else would no longer be employed! This isn't suggesting that his folks can do no wrong it's just saying that there is a very high regard for customer satisfaction & putting the customer first.
In my case the manufacturer elected to say sorry for the wrongdoings of a contractor they elected to represent them. I never asked for anyone to be fired, just honor what you offered.
Do you really think that $15k is going to make or break the manufacturer? In fact 1 lost boat sale will more than eclipse that amount, so in my opinion they made a poor choice.
