I don't want to side track Rick's Thread here so I will make it short. Yes there are two ways to build a 15in 300xs.
1) Purchase Stock 300xs's with 20in Offshore mid. Purchase a Mad EFI 300x can, shorten drive shaft, and shift shaft and main swivel arm. Re-assemble.
2) If you have a 260 or 280 offshore you can remove the power head, switch adapter plate to a MAD EFI 2.5 to 300x adapter and bolt on 300xs powerhead. You will want to switch the gear ratio for the lower unit to 1.62 to 1. The only draw back of doing it this way is the water pump in the 2.5 gear case is smaller and the engine will start to over heat slightly if held wide open for long runs.

This is not side tracking, its giving me more ideas.. I currently have offshore mids so this adapter plate idea is interesting.
