VR1 is basically a cut down, lower profile velocity 290. It will be faster but have a smaller cabin.

Tbe 290SC and VR-1 are the same length boat and hulls are the same. The 290SC has a raised deck for cabin headroom. This also gives more freeboard (higher sides) in the cockpit. The SC also has a bathroom. VR-1 is a little lighter, faster, and sleeker.

There is also a 280 and 260, what Velocity are you comparing with the VR 1?

The VR-1 is really a sit down boat given the much lower freeboard. While the hull is the same as the 290 it definitely "feels" different. Although the 390 is not a sit down boat (except for racing), the 390 and 410 also feel different and share the same hull.
