Default 28zx to 3100 american offshore handling?

Hey guys, I have a offer on my current 98 donzi 28zx, it's running a 555ci with a xr and shorty runs 84mph and handles pretty well for 28 in the rough inner bay Lake Erie water I run in. My question to you guys is will a 31 american offshore cat be comparable in ride quality to the 28 donzi? My girlfriend hates the side to side rock when going fast in boat slop and I'm considering a 31 A/O it has 500efis bravo xr 1:36s with 30p bravo ones and stelling 10" boxes. Just want to make sure it's going to be a better ride then what I have now, any help is greatly appreciated!

31 AO will be a huge improvement in ride & stability compared to what you have now, go for it..

I'm planning to go look at the a/o this week, what can I expect for cuddy size compared to my donzi? My girlfriends biggest concern is it's going to be to small to even go down into. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would say it would be similar sized as a 28 V , we overnighted all the time on our 31 Awesome, the bed runs bow to stern on top of the tunnel , I think the AO is opposite set up of that, but either way it is a usable cabin...

The boat rides great super happy with the ride quality of it! Runs great in honest 3-4' chop. Best I've seen is 92mph with it at 5000rpm and is very predictable. You can actually take your hands off the wheel at 90 and points straight as an arrow. Need some more power in the 500efi motors to spin some more rpm, or maybe lab the 30s that are on it now. I'm running 91 in it because that's what our farm tank is filled with, will it work better on regular?

92 on 500's is a little low but not much. Depending on your set up, props, spinning in/out. You really need about 550 hp+ to break 105 on these boats. I get mine up to 82-83 and that is when I just start to "hop". I don;t have enough HP to drive through it.

Stick with the 91 octane, abd these boat need a chop to air out.
