Both of those dates are correct. Since Mike has been bi-coastal the past couple years it was only proper to hold memorial services on both sides. Thank you everyone for your stories of Mike. It means alot to us at the factory and the family.

Question. What was the first boat built my Mike? I assume a 37? I recall first hearing about OL when they brought Bob Russell's 42' Rock-It to the 1000 isles poker run in August of 2000 I believe. That boat was an animal back then.

So much of this was covered at the celebration of life of Mike Fiore in Rhode Island yesterday. There were so many great stories being told and so much to try and remember. Hopefully I do not get this wrong, but I believe Bob Russel's was the first with a 37 . Bob had the boat about a month and Mike had called him to tell him he wanted to take his boat to the boat show in Chicago. Bob was like, "OK.." The boat is being picked up tomorrow morning. "OK." After the show Mike calls Bob to tell him his boat wasn't coming back. He sold it at the show... That was when Bob said, "What's next?" Mike tells him he needs a 42..... Bob states he wants triples and if he can't have triples he wants his 37 back. Mike was concerned he couldn't fit triples. But of course in Mike's style he tries to make it work. He got all 3 engines in minus one water pump. Bob came to pick up the boat and told Mike , "No problem I am taking the boat back to Washington and he would get the pump on the 3rd engine.
And it was stories like this all day long. Mike was the type of person telling you what you need because it was a vision of where he wanted to see his company go. There were several guys Mike did this with. Bob admitted he actually owned 13 different OUTERLIMITS.
My guess is, he isn't done yet....
Between Mike's vision and ideas, and to have such great customers willing to put up the money to try something new, that was how OUTERlLMITS was born.
The services were held right next to the waters Mike would test his boats:

Was at the Dock one day many years ago and saw an offshore boat that I didnt recognize.
Introduced myself and asked about his boat. It was #1 of his new boat he was building. 37' Stilleto named SpeedUnlimited.
MRD Blowermotors with 6's on boxes.... We went for a ride. Thought it was cool being so young and starting up his own business.
RIP

Maybe I misunderstood that it was his first model.
Had in small lettering on the transom
"Next Generation Offshore"
