CTAdams,
Do you live in the St. Louis area? If so, I don't know anything about local folks for you. You have already heard some of the top names at the lake. The top of the list would be Rueben at CPR. NOT cheap, but lots of experience. A VERY close second, (arguably first for engine work) would be Gene at Lightning Performance. LOTS of experience, Not cheap, but knows motors. Not far away would be Jason and Mike<?> at Lakeshores Marine. They may not have the mega years experience but have been playing with a lot of high performance horsepowere, (including blowermotors), for the last 15 years or so. Jason has won his class in the Shootout the last few years in a ProCharged 33 Scarab that they built and continue to play with. These guys would probably be the most reasonably priced and as all the above, would stand behind their work. I've replaced my own valve springs a couple of times. The job may not be brain surgery but can screw things up bad if you don't know what you're doing. If you are closer to the KC area than St. Louis, get with me and I can set you up. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with any of the previously mentioned.

Re: MO Boaters, Who's your marina?
Thanks for the info Gordo. I am closer to St. Louis than KC. I've actually rebuilt several engines but I just don't have the time or patience to do the job correctly in the tight quarters of my bilge. The last thing I want is to pack up the family, go the the lake and find out that I did something wrong and have to work on the boat all weekend. So I will be looking into some of your suggestions.
Thanks again everyone,
