sea water pump bearings and internal seals failed. Broke one rocker stud. Shut down immediately, no collateral damage (probably because 420s are pretty low strung). Switched. Upgraded both engines to ARP rocker studs and had Harland Sharp rebuild all 32 rockers. Everything happened early in the season, so we spent the last half of the year enjoying her.

Explode a 225 Promax Merc outboard 2 times in the summer for 2 different reasons !!

low water hose from the bottom of the boat slipped off. smoked the water pump and impeller. could have been alot worse! other then that it was a good summer

Blood stain on white sun pad. Mitcher T fixed with air paint gun.

Like a dumbass, I opened the engine hatch a couple of inches going 30 mph. The sun pad became a sail and flew off into the water. I swung around, and thank God IT FLOATED! Let it dry out and reattached with no problem. Not my brightest moment.

Early August, dropped a valve in port side motor at WOT. Did a bunch of damage to the inside of the motor. Dave Wesseldyke at Wesco Racing Engines rebuilding. Pictures below.
