Velocity 320

Although my wife and I love our Formula 223, we have decided that we need a bigger boat:D :D I'm just starting the process of looking and a friend tells me about a 1997 Velocity 320 with twin 454/330's. 88 hours- new trailer.
This is a couple of feet bigger than we were looking for and less power than I want:D :D but i'm told it runs 74gps. If this is true, that seems to say that it's a fast hull.

Does anyone have any opinions or experiences with this boat/model?

Thanks in advance- Craig and Nancy

The 320 is blindingly fast, but it will scare the living daylights out of some drivers. You really should run it first and see if you feel comfortable in it,some will, some won't. It is definately an experiance.Lot's of fun, nothing of equal size and power can run with it,but it is not for the faint of heart, a driver's boat for sure. Please be sure you know what you are getting into before you buy,you may love it,you may hate it,no in between on a 320.

Robert,
What do you mean by "scare the living daylights"?
Is it hard to drive or unstable? It's about an hour and 1/2 drive to go look at this thing and I am just not clear on what you mean.
Thanks-Craig

Craig223:

I have a 280 Velocity and ride with several people with 320s. I have been in 320s at 95mph and you absolutely have to pay close attention ... but that's no different than with any 32 foot boat at 95mph. With the pad bottom the boat rides on he pad at high speeds not leaving much in the water. The boat can feel very light. My personal opinionis that the 280 and 390 hulls are better, but that would not make any difference with any kind of standard power.

There is a great deal on a 320 in my area also. It is a 97 and trailer with 502Mags for $65,000. Let me know if you want the phone number.

Now if you want a really nice Velocity .... mine is in the classifieds ...
