How do you keep water out with dry tails....from waves hitting the transom while parked. It would seem that the little black flappers would melt.

If they are sail boaters, they are probably pissed off all the time anyway...

from the water hitting the tubes while parked probably will not flow far enough to get back into the engine; unless, of course, you run the engine and have a huge cam and very little height on the exhaust.......I usually start the engines while on the trailer when backed in enough to have the water pickups under water... let it run to temp then back off the trailer under power......no issues....others have foam balls in the exhaust when backing into the water, then take them out before start.....what you want to watch out for is backing down off plane,....always turn the boat so following waves do not hit the transom..............

On the lake and river no issues with the law. At the ramp hassled every time.

I have mine over the transom. Might not work if you have a molded platform, that and be very cautious coming off plane.

when cmi built mine they made sure i had enough angle to keep the water from backflushing into the engine ,, plus a pair of flappers help too , but on my fountain i feel the swim platform helps to redirect the water away ,, as for dry to the tip ,, i was atb 117 db at idle this past summer , recieved my ticket ,,, love dry exaust ... loud pipes save lives lol
