Don created a brand, sold it and did it again taking other peoples money along the way. Reggie built boats, raced boats and stayed with the same business for almost 30 years.
Both were great at what they did but you have to admire the guy that went to work everyday for 30 years keeping thousands of people employed (direct employees, to vendors, to salesmen, to mechanics).

It does not really matter now because Don is dead, but I can gaurantee if he was alive and went head to head with Reggie the turnout would have been different....Reggie didn't get to be "king" while Don was alive.... both did great things and to me both are kings at what they did.....

Mute point due to the fact that they never competed and never will.

People can cry Don this Don that and they never raced etc .... but in reality in a way they did race. Reggie's hulls competed head to head with some of Dons best designs even if Don wasn't alive to see it. The result was Reggie still was on top so in a way yes the BOATS did compete against each other in various ways just not with Don in one and Reggie in another.
