Imo it works out better clockwise for a couple reasons. Fuel, ( if you have to stop) the sound can get snotty but most likely will be good enough so some people blow the stuff up. And if your running fuel bags I would rather have that extra pounds used mostly up before hitting the Atlantic

Navigation and quickly changing water conditions play a big part in a winning strategy.
You can't win unless you finish and to finish a 271 mile race, you can't be at redline the whole time.
We just heard from former racer named Rick Stein. He was in the first ever Around Long Island race and we hope that he will be able to attend the Friday night gathering, of a lot of former racers of this race and the world of offshore.
