Default Boat Molds

A friend of mine is looking for a couple of boat molds to build some V-hulls as he already has some cat molds. He is looking for something in the 26 thru 32 range. IMO probably a proven step hull if all possible. Also really looking to do single engine app but is open if the right twin app came along.

just asking what ever happened to the 28 Apache Brave hull - I know it went later on to Cherokee boats so what happened after that ? That would be good 28 non stepped hull. Most of those 28's were twin apps so how did a single run probably not that fast, correct Thanks

Thanks, did not know always wondered. Was I correct that Cherokee had it at one time ? I think that company was like 3 or 4 owners or investors and did not stay around very long ?

Mark McManus owns it along with a 24 Apache mold. I believe Eric Froberg had the 28 mold under Cherokee boats. See if Kirk Rogers will sell his Kryptonite molds. He's way out on eastern tip of LI.

Thanks for the info and Yep know all the NY manufacturers. I told my friend maybe rent a mold from whomever is not building anything currently. Funny how a few builders have their molds still and have not built anything in years.

I think the old Superboat 34 mold is for sale....reasonably priced, the last time I heard. I can dig up some old emails if you're interested.

I do like the SB and the 30 boat has done well over the years. The 34 I can not remember what boat that was 1 st, it was an older V-hull non step but SB added the step. If I recall correctly the SB 34 had only a couple of boats made. Thanks for all the replies keep them coming. I will talk to the guy who is looking for the V-hull molds tomorrow.

The 32' Active Thunder cat molds went to Texas quite a few years ago; to a guy that wanted to build his own boat. That was the last we heard of them. They are probably down there baking in the sun somewhere.
