Default Affordable headsets?

Looking for some affordable head sets for the boat. Won't be running poker runs but would like something I can talk to the gf with while cruising. Been reading on here and most threads are old, guys race, is big poker run boats. Not looking to spend a ton and definitely don't need the best.

The mariner 500's looked about like what I was looking for but seem to be sold out and I'm guessing not coming back.

Looks like these are the next best/cheapest to those. https://cruisingsolutions.com/produc...ooth-headsets/

Anyone suggest anything else? Wired to a radio is fine cruise speed is about 45. Would prefer voice activated but PTT is fine too. Would like to be able to expand to 4 but if being stuck to 2 gives better sound thats fine too.

Sena Sph-10 is what I've had my eye on. Waiting to see how far my next boat comes together, or if I move the current one before I purchase anymore products though.

"edit" Well went and watched the videos and that is exactly what these are. Sena models.

This guy made mine custom to my specs and cheaper than your 'off the shelf' sets.
They`ve worked flawlessly so far

. Besides being hand built in the USA, our systems are built to out live the vehicles they put in. We have been doing this for 30 plus years and many of our systems have been in use 15 years or more in specific off shore boats and off road trucks without issue. Internally we build our systems with two independent power supplies, where others do not. We hard wire all cabling off the board out of the box where others use plug in cables. Each cable has a connector with 4 solder joints per connector, per side. Adding in the 2 connectors and the 8 solder joints, you increase possible failures by 10 times. We do not use VOX at all. Our systems are live continuous. VOX needs to be adjusted based on the increased noise environment. At idle you set it at one level, at speed another, and so on. If you set it too tight, your first word can be clipped. If that first word is turn or stop, it could be costly. Besides becoming a pointless feature, I primarily mention the VOX topic as you say you want something simple. Simple is what we believe in. Once our intercom is mounted, it has power, cables are run, and headsets are plugged in, you are talking live continuous. Those are just some of the reasons our intercom is set apart from others.

What's a ball park price for the complete set up? I didn't see it on the website.

I emailed him but I think I saw some old posts and they were around 2k for a four person set up. But I could be wrong.

These headsets are essentially aircraft headsets, call a local flight school, and or an airplance maintenance shop. You can find headsets for as little as $150 or go for the bose and pair over a grand a pair, plus the intercom

Racing Communications Inc - wireless intercom / headsets - I bought 4 of the Peltor wireless models - can use rechargeable battery pack or AA's; they work great and no wires to trip over.
