Default What does this weigh?

I am looking at a Howard 26 cat with no power, I have read it weighs 3800 with power. What will it weigh without power? (it does include exhaust) Also, what is the approximate weight of a triple axle tube steel trailer for it?

Maybe this should be posted in another section but I may get a better response here.

That 3800 lbs. number seems light to me.
I'd imagine a 26' boat would be over 4000 lbs. fully rigged; finished cabin, stereo, batteries, etc. etc.

Remember:
Fuel is 6 lbs./gallon & water is 8 lbs./gallon.

A marine BBC is usually between 600-800 lbs. depending on how it's setup. (blower, intercooler, serpentine vs. multiple belts, fuel pump, coolers, etc. etc.)

Trailer weight could vary greatly depending on construction materials, (thickness and tube sizes, cross members, # of bunks, torsion vs. leaf spring)...
...but I would not expect it to weigh more than 2000 lbs. max.

Are you asking a towing question? If so, I think you would be fine with a 7500 lbs-ish rated 1/2 ton; but nothing less.

Well, go ahead and get an agreed value writer for it at 3x purchase price; and roll the dice. I think the Odyssey is rated at 3500 lbs.

Also, let us know the path he'll be taking so we can get our loved ones the hell out of the way.
(I know that wasn't PC or kind, but I'm in that kind of mood today. )

If he tows over 80mph, the Howard will pack enough air the weight (as measured on the ground) will be within it's ratings.

Hah!

Hmmm. That would lift the back and add more tongue weight.

I am estimating it at @ 5500, so it will not be a Howard packing air Odyssey. Although a 1/2 ton should do the trick

I think we've stumbled on a new market.
"Temporary tunnel tabs for towing use only"

We could get carbon footprint credits, right?
Let me call Al Gore.

They designed and the placement of the steps & strakes was really to help with coefficient drag for hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. Why do you think its called Howard boats because of the incorporated Howard Hughes designs.
