I have always wondered how fast the P29 would be with a stepped hull?

Correct - Rec Boat Holdings owns the name for Scarab and use it for Jet boat builds that came from the Sea Doo jet boat molds as they brought to market because Sea Doo decided to get out the boat business due to declining sales a couple of years ago.

Rec Boat Holdings also owns Four Winns, Glastron, and Wellcraft brands. They bought these companies when Genmar who went bankrupt about 4 or 5 years ago. Genmar owned about 10 to 15 boat companies at that timeframe.

The President for RBH is Roch Lambert who has been the Marine Industry for many years, Anyways just an FYI

Buy mold, slave over laying it up and rigging it.

"You didn't build that boat!"
