Default OSO@Alum Creek?

Anyone going to be around this weekend? I'll probably head there Friday after work and spend the night-staying until Saturday night. I heard we may get some rain late Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, not much rain, althought we need it.

I will have a TV with me. Therefore, we will not miss anything for the big OHIO STATE game Saturday. Then, I plan on cooking out on the beach.

Anyone want to join us? Let me know. It would be nice to see some of us who post and use Offshore Only have a little get togther before the year is over. There should be two other boats involved so far.

What about you FlyinBrian & Thrillseeker?

Mike

What happened to the engines? Hope everything works out for ya putting them back together. Shoot, maybe you should come to Alum Creek, at least someone will be around for some help before heading to the BIG LAKE!

Oh yea, I forgot to mention to ya, I went to the Captain Woody's QFM 96 Breakfast club a few weeks ago at Buckeye Lake...ran into Red Dog (boat). Talked to him for a few hours. Really nice guy. His name is Bill. Runs a paving crew (sealing drive ways or black top?) I think. Don't you do that? Anyway, he has his boat dialed in to 120.4 MPH now! I was hoping to take a ride with him, and I probably could had, but I had to leave (to many beers).

I have Friday off, but I have somewhere to be for the better part of the day. If I can get away early, I will try to get up there. Sounds like a great idea.

Saturday and Sunday I can't do though.

About what time will you guys be there Friday?

I've been wanting to put names to faces. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Thrillseeker,
I am glad you brought this thread back up. I was going to have to do a search on it and bring it back myself. I just found out at lunch that I have to go to Louisville, KY. I have to be there for a few hours. Then, a four hour drive home.

I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO ALUM CREEK FRIDAY LIKE I THOUGHT! THAT SUCKS!

I will be there for sure on Saturday most of the morning till Saturday night. Here is my cell phone # 614-353-8865. Give me a yell if you are coming. If you get my voice mail, keep calling and we can meet up some where on the Creek. Hope you get everything back together ok and we can burn some fuel out there!

The Breakfast club at PIB I did too this year. Its ok because its PIB. Caught some nasty water going home though. The best one is, the one that goes on at Buckeye Lake. People spend the night outside waiting for the party to begin. Actually, the party begins that night with people waiting for the live broadcast to begin the next day! If you have never did the one at Buckeye Lake, do it!

Red Dog lives very close to Alum Creek. Can't remember where, but its less than a 10 min drive for him.

Rick,
You are right, its not that big, but its the best water we have to choose from here in Columbus, OH. I'll guess and say 15 miles long? Give or take a few. Its nice water. A lot of people over night there too. Makes it nice because you can tie up all night with people. There is a restaurant at the marine with shower facilities too. The beach is nice and it has a playground area for the kids.

Like I said, its not big, but it has some nice features to it. There are some nice boats that will go there too.

Obvisiously, I would like to make "Cumberland my home lake", but it cost me $100 for gas in towing everytime I go. Next weekend will be the 3rd time down so, the expenses add up fast. Trying to rasie a family too, know what I mean.

The ultimate will be to have a 33-36' Outlaw with a lift and slip some day at Cumberland in about....?????

actually, 10 mi long, maybe 8 is boatable, 41 miles of shoreline, 3,000 ft. beach, 2mi wide at the widest, depth avg from 18-55 in the main waters. i can make it friday, saturday before 2, and MAYBE on sunday.

as much as we all want to be there, how about planning next week? that way we have time to get work off (me) and not be going to Amish Country (yes, me too...)
