Circumnavigate around Kent Island September 21st
Kenny Stafford has put together an exciting way to enjoy the bay and test your knowledge of charts, favorite watering holes, and bay facts in this one day gimmick rally.
Here are the details….
Registration is at Sandy Point Park 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 21st.
The entrants fee is $30.00 for Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association members and $80.00 for nonmembers. (non membership fee includes 2003 single membership the CBPBA)
Kenny has set this event up to include all boat types size and speed.
He has four separate classes and they are as follow:
Class 1 is for boats in the 25mph cruising range (smaller boats and cruisers)
Class 2 is for boats in the 40 mph cruising range (most of our membership)
Class 3 is for boats in the 50 mph cruising range (Remember cruising range)
Class 4 is for boats in the 50 plus cruising range (you know the 90mph boats)
The classes will leave on a staggered start with the class 1 boats leaving first. There are five questions and or items that you must locate.
Question: What flies on top of the Jetty?
Answer: Jolly Roger
Question: How deep is the water at number 1 in Eastern Bay?
Answer: Plenty
What are the beers on the umbrellas at Kentmorr? Extra credit: What colors are they?
I’m sure by now you get the idea.
Are you up for the challenge?
Prizes will be awarded by class for the most number of correct answers then the best time. In the case of a tie single deck cut high card wins. (Right if there’s a tie someone cheated)
The finally is at Mikes Crab House on the South River. )(note to self…probably shouldn’t have told them where that is it might be one of Kenny’s questions).
Lunch is on your own!
Due to short notice there are no provisions for pre-registration. Check the web site Friday night for any cancellation notice due to real bad weather. Kenny says we go rain or shine. It’s a boat there supposed to get wet.
Time line:
10:00 a.m. Registration
11:30 a.m. Drivers meeting (mandatory)
12:00 noon Class 1 Start
12:10 p.m. Class 2 Start
12:20 p.m. Class 3 Start
12:30 p.m. Class 4 Start
3:00 p.m. Awards at Mike’s Crab House (go straight to Mike’s and turn in you sheets as soon as you can
