Strainers clogged with mud/silt
So this weekend we where out on the river. We got to the cove at low tide and ran thru some mud/silt before anchoring up. When we went to leave I started up the engines and noticed that I wasn't getting water out of the ends of my exhaust so I shut them down. Upon investigating I found both strainers clogged and full of mud/silt. I took the tops off, scooped out all the mud and poured several bottles full of water into the strainer before putting the lids back on. I wasn't able to clear the lines going to the pick ups but when I re started the engines they where able to suck good water up and after a few moments of muddy water coming out of the pipes they cleared and ran clean again.
Ok, my question and worry is that mud could be still in the headers(CMI E Tops dry to the end of the tips). I ran it pretty good going back to the ramp and all was good. Just wondering if there's anything else I should do? Impellers seem ok, water pressure was the same. It was a very fine silty mud but enough to clog the small holes in the strainer screen.

Run it on the hose at idle for a while. Your block is full of silt also now. Also may want to check the impeller. It may be pumping for now, but that silt is just like sandpaper and most likely put grooves in your impeller and pump housing.
