Seems like a good idea, I imagine that it could be programmed with safe parameters for step bottom boats if steering input was considered. I am all for integrated systems as long as there are different modes according to the owners skill set.

Notice the demo boat is a straight bottom boat.
No thanks on a step bottom.

I'll take "Smart Operator, Dumb Boat for $1000, Alex."

seems this would be more useful on tabs than on the engines. But I agree with the others making it easier for all the idiots out there.

Dont need to make it any easier for Idiots to think they can drive a boat. It is bad enough with some of the operators out there already.

Just as electronics can make an unstable aircraft fly (stealth fighter) so could they make a boat that is unstable in certain configurations safer.

You are never going to stop the inexperienced from buying boats with capabilities above them. In the automotive world electronic supervision has allowed the manufacturers to provide vehicles with capabilities far beyond the skills of many drivers. These vehicles can be driven by average drivers for the most part.

Boats with inherent safety issues or just handling quirks could operate in a much safer envelope with well thought out smart controls.
