Default Hydro Hoist bunk question

I have a Hydro Hoist with 20ft 2x6 bunks. I have added a 4 foot 2x6 added to the rear that ends at the back step. The boat sits with 4 inches exposed off the rear to prevent hook.

My question is with another 40 inches of gap to the next step should I add a 1x6 to fill in the void?

My trailer has gaps in the same areas and with this just sitting I was hoping it would fine. for is it full support in front and back with just that air gap (pic below)

I usually get my information on searching OSO first as i am sure this has been covered before.

Gaps on your trailer bunks are probably for slings.
