We all knew Jo was doing battle with lung cancer. (No, he was not a smoker) I knew he was fighting, as I spoke with his father fairly regularly...but no one thought it would catch him like it did yesterday. Pepe said Jo passed at noon yesterday. Jo leaves behind a wonderful family...
I had been a boater my whole life, and entered into performance boating when I bought a 28 from them... Jo sure did show me a lot about how to run a boat properly.
His family, as well as this industry has lost a great man.

I am extremely sad to learn of Jo's passing yesterday. My prayers and thoughts are with Pepe, Linda, Little Jo, Barbie and the whole family. They fought a brave battle together to the end. The viewing is tonight at 6 p.m. at Caballero Funeral Home on Bird Road and 82 Avenue, Miami. May he rest in peace. Godspeed my friend.
