Feel free to correct me with the right names. Been a few years since I've been there.

As others have said you would probably be best meeting somewhere west of the city in St Charles. Ameristar casino is right in the heart of historic st charles and on the riverfront of the Missouri River. You could meet there the parking lot is plenty big. Lots of restaurants in the casino or very nearby and a bass pro shop and west marine right across the street.
Keep telling yourself that, we lived in there for almost 17 years and the City has been going downhill for most of that time and all the latest crime numbers do not lie. The Zoo, Arch and lets not forget the 1904 Wold's Fair can only get you so much.

In St Charles...Tony's on main for dinner...Filet, pasta w/alfredo sauce, Caesar salad for dinner...Drinks...you can walk around main and find a good variety of different style small bars to drink at. Trailhead is nice, also Old Millstream is really cool, they are a very good walk from Tony's on the other end of Main.

Some friends and I went back in the Winter to some of the "other" places. Very disappointed. Ended up at those 2, whatever they're called now. We ended up paying 5 cover charges, 6 taxi rides. Expensive night.....
