Suggestion on good poker run boat
#15
I've been running a 2003 377 Talon. Boat has 2008 525 EFI's (better headers with 110 hours) and #6 drives with 35 pitch props. Been very happy with the boat. Runs 90's no problem, best I've seen is 103. Little wider to tow as stated, but I haven't had any issues. At 3,200 cat has an awesome cruise speed and not beating on the motors to death.

IMO that's hard to find. Reliability is the concern. After making several different types of boat purchases in the last few years we have decided to buy a new dcb m29 with 565's 115-118mph. Should be trouble free boating with this setup. 2 year warranty. I was honestly blown away with ride, fit, finish and just how big the 29 truly is. This is no light boat. A new boat is twice what your looking to spend. I'm not sure it's gonna hang in rough water with a 38 TG but let's face it most of us won't be running hard in poker runs with big water.
I decided to purchase this boat for many reason. Most of the time it's my wife and I, or another couple. Or 1-2 of our kids. Going big requires a much larger truck to tow than my 2015 f150 I drive daily. We also wanted something for smaller lakes like Norris lake as well. Also something that is much easier to trailer and use. Not to mention the insurance on this piece is around $3800.00 verse double for the next size up. Boat has a ton of storage as well and much bigger cockpit then most 30-40 v bottom go fast.
If, I was you I would consider a used dcb f32 is a great boat and considerably larger than the 29 but it does have canopy wind shields is the only drawl back. You can find a used one between 150-200 and if you look at used prices on them for the last 2-5 years they have be very stable or increased a little on a nice low hour boats.
