This reminds me of a story I heard:

There was a guy lost in a California forest. He was getting real hungry. He didn't have any food and could not find anything to eat. He spotted a bird in a tree and with a perfect throw, nailed the bird with a rock.

Later, while he was eating the bird a Forest Ranger happened to see him. After checking things out the officer started raging on the guy, "do you know that is a Spotted Owl you're eating, they are protected and I am going to write you a citation ... you can take this up with a judge"

In court, the judge read him the riot act. "what were you thinking ... you can't kill and eat endangered species". The guy goes on to explain that he was lost and hungry and had no other choice but to eat what ever he could find.

The judge took the position that he would probably do the same thing if he were in that situation. The judge was a little curious and asked the guy "by the way ... what does Spotted Owl taste like?"

The guy said " well ... it's a cross between Bald Eagle and Desert Tortise"


(drum roll ... symbal crash)
