I like the look of Jeeps but the only two I would want would be an AEV Wrangler conversion with the Hemi or the Cherokee SRT8!

Almost everyone that moves to Flariduh has the Jeep fantasy (my dad included). They take the top off a few times and realize it is too hot for that BS and after a few rainstorms the interiors smell like wet sneakers for the next year! I would only buy a Wrangler if I owned a 3 car garage, the Jeep would be the 3rd vehicle for nice days only and in the garage the rest of its life! The top would be permanently off.

Two yrs ago on Table Rock, Sea Tow hired my buddy to remove a 28ft cruiser from a small island that got beached in the middle of the night, winched it off, land floated it and towed it to the nearest marina, about 1.5 miles. Mikes bill to Sea Tow was 1700 bucks, ( crew of four and took about 6 hrs ) Sea Tow in tern billed the customer 4500 bucks, Keep in mind Sea Tow did nothing to assist.

My good friend owns a towing company. He got a very similar call. He has an old ww2 army tank, with a dt466 in it and a a Holmes tow body on it. He loaded it on his landoll, towed it to the site, recovered the ford ranger. I think he charged $575.

Whomever drew up that bill should be bound, thrown on a jet, and pushed out over ISIS controlled territory.

It's often bragging rights for a serious wheeler to pull another 4x4 out of hell. Those are the guys you wanna find. They'll do it for beer. Stuck my Bronco for 4 nights in what used to be a pond. Didn't realize that the night before. A guy with 44 Swampers eventually pulled me out. He did it for cheap and I told him his Chevy was badazz. Well worth it. lol

As for damaging it... you stick any truck bad enough and yank the sh*t out of it, you can bend stuff. Been there, done that.

Not offroading, but I was sober-driving for a bachelorette party (yay me) years ago and had my parents' van towed via a closed strip mall towing scam. POS's were towing them to a parking lot down the street, then loading several at a time onto a car carrier and taking them to the tow lot. Long story short, I cooled down, did some investigation, and stole the van back. They didn't appreciate that.
