FPT INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS WITH MERCURY MARINE ON NEW 6.7-LITRE
DIESEL ENGINE

Global powertrain innovator FPT Industrial has entered an agreement with marine propulsion
supplier Mercury Marine to make the FPT 6.7-litre mechanical fuel injection NEF engine available for
sale in global markets.
Branded Mercury Diesel, the 6.7-litre FPT engine is the perfect power solution for single application
(22’ to 30’) sterndrive and inboard boats such as passenger ferries, taxi boats and other government
applications. It will also appeal to dual applications such as boats with water jet propulsion and
displacement trawlers (30’-50’). The reliability of the engine aligns with the durability and easy
maintenance of both the FPT Industrial and Mercury Marine diesel offerings.
“This agreement is a testimony to FPT Industrial’s recognised technological leadership. It further
underlines our commitment to the very demanding field of marine applications,” said Annalisa

A provider of recreational, commercial and government marine propulsion, Mercury Marine’s vice
president of global category management, Martin Bass, said: “This partnership with FPT Industrial
allows Mercury Marine to develop market awareness of the new product’s value proposition in global
markets that we don’t have a presence in yet. The Mercury Diesel midrange expansion will support
the needs of a predominantly commercial Asian market.”
The 6.7-litre midrange engine will be officially launched at the China International Boat Show in
Shanghai on 7-10 April 2016 and will be available in the marketplace in Q1 of 2016.
