Superboat World Cup NOT in Key West this year???

[COLOR=crimson]Can anyone fill me in on why the Superboat World Cup is not in Key West this year? In my opinion it was the best place to watch the race and see the boats. Is it being held in New Orleans this year? And will it ever return to Key West?

Hello Patrice, Welcome to the board...It was announced very early in the season that the worlds would be moving to New Orleans for several reasons...The presenting sponsor is Al Copeland and Copelands...New Orleans is their hometown...So come on down to New Orleans...

Wish we could make it to New Orleans, but can't this year. Key West was really easy for us to get to, and the whole week was a blast. I hope they do as well in N'orleans!!

APBA is having their worlds in Key West the week of November 18th.....

Like Risk mentioned, I also wanted to make you aware of this.

I'm not sure if you're looking to watch the SBI event in particular or if you're only into watching some boat racing. APBA is still holding their World Championships in Key West this year.

Thanks for the info. I love ANY offshore race and I am in for the Key West APBA. I'll be on a 38 foot sailing catamaran Oct. 16-20
in St. Pete. Anything going on then?

Unfortunately, No! Until not too long ago, there would have been a race in St. Pete that weekend, but that is no longer the case.
