Like tommy says, if its a good construction and you just want to build a boat for yourself title it how ever you can and have fun with it. Just understand if it don't have a popular tag like Donzi or Cigarette on it its only going to be worth what the average 24 foot boat would anyway.
I like it. Kind of like my race boat but newer.

just got off the phone with the owner, seemed knowledgeable and a nice guy
according to him the boat was made less than 2 yrs ago the layup is biaxial gp resin and 1/2 inch klegecell cored hull and deck
the stringers and bulkheads are higher density foam 2 inches thick
the cockpit floor is not bonded in yet but the cabin floor is and gel finished
the gas tank is to big extends into the engine room and should be replaced and the bulkhead completed i agree with that
he also said the layup is very nice and was squeegee'd
also he thinks it would need a couple more layers of biax over the engine room stringers to accept a big block
his words (very light 900 pounds) and (it's a potato chip)
the builder was trying to start up a company in tampa but ran out of money
so i'm going over to look at it and was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up and see it, an extra set of eyes and any input would be greatly appreciated
gas lunch and drinks are on me
thanks guys

not trying to knock the boat but if it is a light layup resin choice is critical. If you are considering it i would want some sort of confirmation on what was used. I see you said GP, if it is a standard GP poly i dont feel ANY poly should be used in a foam core build, the elongation is far to low to work properly, Foam and poly are compatible they just dont perform to our rough use standard, VE at the very least.
Hope all is well with your projects Dan, give me a shout after you look at it.

agree with dave on the poly and layup schedule
material layed against the core is critical to bond
if use any cloth will delam from the core in the waves
if core is not fully in infused it will sheer the core
I built small drag and f1 boats with foam core
but the pounding is different on an offshore hull as why balsa is more widely used
too light a hull will bounce off a wave and not cut through it,,,,,,,,
most 24 and 27 hulls were splashed from a magnum
another thought is to find a nice used 1 for a resto
pantera,Excalibur, super, ect all had basic same bottom with different decks
then will have a name for resale
will save a lots vrsing starting from 0
