Just because a CC can go 100 mph doesn't mean you have to go that fast. Comman sense always pays off. Putting over 500 hours on a 39 Nortech CC the hull is capable of those speeds.

I thought about this more. I have decided I am getting old and my ideals are changing. I used to think going 100+ on the water was fun. But I have started to think more about living and having fun then living on the edge, which I have done my entire life.

I guess in reality it sucks.

Pat, I know what you are saying about safety, but the reality is in the summer up here almost every go fast style boat I see pull into the bars has 6-10 people loaded in them. One of my friends who owned an AT used to say one of the reasons he bought the boat over a Cig was the cockpit space and the ability to pack a lot of people in it. Actually the more I think about it, if anybody pulls in with only 2 or 3 people in the boat, they are usually *****ing that a couple people backed out on them and it was supposed to be 6 or more. The price of fuel probably also had something to do with, as most people think its pointless to go run around with 2 people in the boat.

Personally I run by myself more then with people with me. Its usually a PIA the more that are in the boat.
A brew in the holder and the Sunset on my Azz is the end of a beautiful day

I boat solo a lot too. Coordinating with people is pita. Plus everyone is fat these days and I don't want to see them in a swim suit.

I'm comfortable writing this type boat because many of the buyers of these boats have owned high performance boats in the past are tired of blowing engines and drives and in reality are slowing down.I extract lots of info about their boating backgrounds before I issue quote and I reject many applicants. I'm fortunate enough to have an exclusive A rated admitted, licensed, domestic carrier to write this insurance and want to keep this program alive and well for many more years.

I forgot to mention the reason for the 130 mph speed limit in the policy.I would not be surprised if some boat builder makes a 6 engine boat in the future and I'm ready for it.

I may have missed it but cigs new 41 with twin 1100 would be starting to push on your speed limit, you know someone is going to tick the 1550 box and we will have a 130mph centre console.
