Default Who are we

This is too good to resist.

Rice Hauler Here,

It's been great to learn about all of you who I have read about for so long. You're all more interesting than I would have ever thought. (Yes, Even you tank.)

I'm an avid boater from Ohio. Summers, my girlfriend and I spend our time boating from Sandusky, Ohio on Beautiful Lake Erie. Catch us anytime between flyby's at the Casino on Kelly's Island to Charging down the channel to Put-in-Bay (Why is that always hyphenated?) to cruising over to the pool at the Nor'Easter Club or La Marin.

Winters we spend terrorizing the intercoastal and coastal waters in and around Baker's Haulover Inlet (Who is this Baker Person). South to Miami or the keys or north to Boca or Palm Beach. Inside, if it's wild outside, and Outside anytime the weather and good sense allow.

Lip-Ship customer. for over 10 years. he fixes, repairs, rebuilds, etc. ("It's your hobby Rob, but it's my business" my favorite phil quote)

I have met the best people and made the best friends from this thing we all do called boating and I am grateful for all of it every day.

Oh yeah, the demographics:
Age 42
Divorced
3 children
3 cars
1 2001 Top Gun (pics in the reader rides section)
No tow vehicle unless you count the AMG ML55 (thing could'nt tow itself, much less my boat but man is it ever fast for an SUV)
Florida Powerboat Club member (And proud of it, Stu's the best get's us all there and back everytime.)

It's very refreshing to know that I'm pretty much the same as the rest of you all. I Just want to go boating again and the sooner the better.
(O.K. maybe a tad bit longer winded than some but hey, I'm having fun here and it's been a long day.)

As so many others have mentioned I hope to keep meeting more and more of you in person. Already met thrillseeker and thisistank only a few thousand more to go but as they say in the old country "the oxen is slow but the earth is patient"

Best to all

Robert Shin

Good to see how many "vintage" members there are.

I'm Bill, age 56, live in Syracuse and boat in the 1000 Islands. I'm VP of a real estate development company and have been married 20 years to a teacher. My 18 year old son is a freshman at St. Lawrence University.

I have a 2000 Velocity 280 with a Whipplecharged 502 Mag. A bad back, loss of my co-pilot to college, and lack of interest by my wife has led to the decision to sell the boat. My parents kept our first boat in the same boathouse that I keep my boat back in 1954.

Have had numerous boats including a 26' Pearson sailboat, 1988 SeaRay 20, 1988 SeaRay 268 Sundancer, 1990 Powerplay 23 Conquest, ...

Offshore Score - Your not! 37? Dude, the Dark Side would probably still hang with you.

So what's the problem Philip - too comfortable in that closet? Come on, fess up. We won't tell Kim. Don't forget, T2x and Steve David are MUCH older than you and they still rock.

"And finally, Fred - didn't someone once say you go safest in the middle ground. That's the road to sanctuary!"

Ok Fred, I found it. It was when Phaethon insisted on driving the chariot of the Sun, his father caution (which went unused - go figure) was, "Medius tutissimus ibis" or "You will go safest in the middle course.'

Sorry, a little over-caffeineated this morning
