Question 2.5 Trim Ram Technical Question

Okay guys, I need some help. Last night when changing gear oil I found a leak in the trimram/cylinder portion of one motor. Upon further inspection it turns out the plate that the trim piston passes through, that screw into the top of the trim cylinder, unscrewed. I did not have the proper tool to tighten this collar and subsequently butchered it up pretty good! I got it as tight as I could, and hate to buy a whole new unit (probably big dollars ) if this can just be repaired. My thought was this. It appears as if it is leaking from the out seal/edge. Again, I got it as tight as I could. I was thinking of using JB WELD to seal the outside perimeter. If this doesn't work then I guess I need a new unit. Any thoughts? My main goal is to refill the trim pump with oil and get me through next weekends HOT TOTTIE run and a run on Lake George the following weekend. Then I have all winter to replace it or do what is necessary. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Shane
